A Little Helps A Lot

If you've been paying even a little attention to the interblogosphere these last few months you have probably noticed the explosion in Groupon style "deal of the day" - often with some weird social media hook- sites. Well we've just found a Groupon-esque site that doesn't make us want to roll our eyes: meet Philanthroper. Instead of getting you to buy some good or service, they want you to donate to non-profit organizations. A different non-profit every day in fact. And they don't want a lot, just a dollar. Their refreshingly simple philosophy is "So you can donate another $1 tomorrow. And another the next day. Use Philanthroper daily, and we guarantee, you'll donate more over time than you would have otherwise plus it won't sting your bank account so badly. "

Canadian Government Begins Expanding Cancer Drug Access

The Ontario government said Monday it plans to expand access to certain cancer medications for patients who may benefit from the drugs but who do not meet strict clinical guidelines for their use.
This ruling is part of a broader movement to begin letting patients have access to medications that were not tested for their specific pathology. In this example, no trials were conducted on patients with tumors smaller than 1cm.
